How do impression-based earnings work for streaming?

Every time a visitor clicks "Stream" and the video begins playback, an impression event is registered. Your earnings per impression depend on two factors: the visitor's country (Tier 1 countries like US, UK, and Canada pay the highest rates) and your traffic quality score (higher engagement and lower bounce rates mean better rates). These impressions are tracked separately from PPD downloads and paid out through the same dashboard balance.

Can a visitor earn me money from both streaming and downloading?

Absolutely. This is the core advantage of CloudFam's video system. If a visitor streams your video first (generating impression revenue) and then decides to download it (generating PPD revenue), both events are tracked and paid independently. There is no deduplication between stream impressions and download events — they are treated as completely separate monetization actions.

What video formats and quality levels are supported?

You can upload videos in MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, WEBM, and FLV formats up to 5 GB per file. For streaming, our backend automatically transcodes your video into multiple quality levels (360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p) using adaptive bitrate technology. The player automatically selects the best quality based on the viewer's connection speed. The original uploaded file is preserved untouched for downloads.

How is the streaming URL protected from being shared?

CloudFam uses a multi-layer protection system. First, the actual Cloudflare R2 CDN URL is never exposed to the browser — all requests are proxied through CloudFam's secure gateway. Second, each stream session generates a unique, cryptographically signed token that expires after a short window. Third, IP-based session binding ensures tokens cannot be transferred between devices. Even if someone shares the gateway link, the stream will not work without a fresh, valid token.

Does streaming work on mobile browsers?

Yes, and it is fully optimized for mobile. The built-in HTML5 video player supports iOS Safari, Chrome on Android, and all major mobile browsers. Features include fullscreen playback, picture-in-picture mode on supported devices, background audio playback, and automatic quality adjustment based on mobile data or WiFi connection. No app installation is required.

How do I enable streaming on my existing video uploads?

Go to your CloudFam dashboard, open the file manager, and click the settings icon on any video file. Toggle "Allow Streaming" to ON. The system will automatically process the video for streaming (this may take a few minutes for large files). Once processing is complete, your file link will display both "Stream" and "Download" options to visitors. You can disable streaming at any time without affecting the download functionality.

Do re-watches and partial views count as impressions?

Yes, with smart deduplication. Each unique visitor can generate one impression per 24-hour period per video. If the same visitor returns the next day and streams again, that counts as a new impression. However, refreshing the same page or re-watching within the same session does not generate duplicate impressions — this prevents artificial inflation while still rewarding genuine repeat engagement from returning viewers.

Can I use AdFlow with video streaming?

Yes. When AdFlow 2.0 is enabled, the video gateway page includes the same anti-adblock recovery, Brave sponsor tasks, and unlock pass options as regular file downloads. This means even visitors who stream your video but have adblockers active can still be monetized through AdFlow's recovery paths.
